Center Grove Boys Basketball League Travel Division- Hoops Overview
Registration
The registration is now open for travel league only.
You can register by visiting https://www.cgbbl.com/home. The player and volunteer coach registration deadline for the travel division is Thursday, September 5th at 9PM. A $20 non-refundable registration fee is required. For players making a travel team, this will be applied to their dues.
Rec League registration will open after Travel Basketball Evaluations in early September.
Eligibility
Players must live in the Center Grove School District or attend a Center Grove School. Players must be in 2nd through 6th grade. They are not allowed to play up a grade. If the school they attend has an Indiana Ball team, they will need to play for the school they attend or have approval to play for Center Grove prior to making a team.
Cost
If the player is selected for a travel team, there will be an additional cost of $255 which will be due after teams are selected. The travel cost has been reduced this year to a total of $275 to help relieve the gate fee cost set by Indiana Ball.
Teams
There will be up to 3 teams per grade with 8-9 players per team for 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. There will be 1 team for 2nd grade.
Evaluations
The player evaluation and team selection process will be led by CGHS Head Boys Basketball Coach Zach Hahn. Player evaluations will be held at the CGHS Student Athletic Center on Sunday, September 8th. All players interested in a travel team are required to attend evaluations. Players who want to play rec league should not attend travel evaluations.
Evaluation Times on Sunday, September 8th
3rd Grade 11:00am to 12:15pm
4th Grade 12:30 pm to 1:45pm
5th Grade 2:00pm to 3:15pm
6th Grade 3:30pm to 4:45pm
2nd Grade 1pm to 2pm
No observers will be allowed in the gyms for evaluations. Please leave basketballs at home. Balls will be provided.
Coaches
If you are interested in coaching a travel team, you will be required to submit registration as a volunteer. A google form then will be sent to you to complete and you it will need to be completed prior to registration closing to be considered. Coaches will be selected for each team after players have been placed on each team. Selected coaches will be contacted shortly after the teams have been finalized
Travel Season
The travel division season begins in late October and continues into March for regular season Indiana Ball games and other leagues/tournaments. This year we are excited to announce we will be playing in the Indiana Ball League again this year. Practice will be two nights per week for 90 minutes per night, will be held at gyms in the Center Grove area, and will begin after Fall Break. Travel division games will be played on Sundays, will be held in the Indianapolis area, and will begin in November.
